iti2 for the city
iti3 the people session

itinerrance is the initial project that led to the creation of this site. The idea was to send 20 disposable cameras through the world to 20 people, each participant where asked to shoot a maximum of 5 pics and then pass the camera to someone else. The last person (when all the pics have been taken) send back the camera to be processed and displayed here.
The initial project started on september 2000. Only 5 cameras came back.
Itinerrance is closed and the result is shown in the gallery section.

Itinerrance est le projet original qui est à la base de la création de ce site. L'idée était d'envoyer 20 appareils photo jetables à 20 participants à travers le monde, chaque participant ayant pour mission de prendre un maximum de 5 photos et ensuite faire passer l'appareil à un autre participant dans son entourage. La dernière personne (quand le rouleau arrive à sa fin) renvoie l'appareil pour qu'il soit développé et présernté en ligne ici.
Le projet initial a débuté en septembre 2000. A ce jour 5 appareils sont revenus.

As the result of the 'itinerrance' experience iti2 is born on the same basis, but there was a constraint : the participant was responsible for the camera and had to send it back when finished. The camera was also provided with a theme : "the city". The participant where allowed to lend the camera.

A la lumière de l'expérience résultant d'itinerrance, iti2 a vu le jour sur la même base, la nuance étant que le participant avait la responsabilité de renvoyer l'appareil lorsque la pellicule était finie. En plus de cette nouvelle contrainte iti2 avait pour thème : "la ville". Bien qu'ayant la responsabilité de l'appareil le participant pouvait, s'il le désirait le prêter dans son entourage.

Iti3 is basically the same project as iti2 but the theme was : 'the people session' insted of the city.

Iti3 reprends la même structure qu'iti2 seul le thème change, iti3 s'orientant vers le gens plutôt que les villes.

In iti4, a toy Camera (the Diana) is sended with a roll of 120 film, the participant is asked to realize 16 pictures, no theme but there's a time constraint, the participant have 1 week to shoot the pics before sending the camera back.
Iti4 is actually running. Due to the fact that there's only 1 camera circulating there's a waiting list to participate.

Pour le projet iti4 un appareil photo jouet de moyyen format est envoyé chargé d'un film 120, le participant doit donc réaliser 16 photos, il n'y a pas de thème mais une contrainte temporelle, le participant a 1 semaine pour faire ses photos et ensuite il doit renvoyer l'appareil.
Iti4 est actuellement en cours. Il n'y a qu'un seul appareil circulant, l'attente est donc assez longue pour les nouveaux participants.

Itibox is a brand new concept in the itinerrance style, it's not strictly based on photography. The itibox is a closed box in which people can drop a message, a picture, a drawing, a piece of paper or anything that ones wants. Ideally the itibox will be placed in a semi public space so various people can enjoy the project and place their "message" in it. When the box is full, or after a reasonnable delay, the person who received the box send it back to me without opening it and the material dropped in the box will be displayed on the itinerrances web site.
basically a itibox is made from a shoe box, or a smaller box.

Itibox est un nouveau concept dans l'univers d'itinerrance, il ne s'agit pas forcément de photographie. En fait itibox est une boite scellée munie d'une fente poury glisser des documents (photos, dessins, textes, flyers, n'importe quoi pourvu que ça rentre et que ce ne soit pas périssable bien sur). Idéalement la personne qui souhaite recevoir une itibox devrait la placer dans un endroit semi public, de cette manière un relativement grand nombre de personnes pourra y placer sa contribution. Quand la boite est pleine, ou après un délai raisonnable, le participant me renvoie la boite sans l'ouvrir pour que le contenu figure sur le site d'itinerrance(s).
Ces boites seront faites à partir de boites de chaussures, ou plus petit en fonction de ce que je peux récupérer.

12 words is the new itinerrance project, launched on march the 15th.
Participants in the 12 words project receive a 12 shots roll and a list of 12 words to "illustrate freely". Simple concept, simple project.
nota bene : participant have to use their own camera, itinerrance provide only the cheap 100 asa roll and, of course, the 12 words list.

12 mots est le nouveau projet d'itinerrance, lancé le 15 mars 2005.
Les participants à 12 mots reçoivent chacun un film 35mm (24X36) de 12 poses et une liste de 12 mots à "illustrer librement". Concept simple, projet simple.
nota bene : Les participants doivent disposer d'un appareil 35mm, itinerrance(s) ne fournissant que le film 100 asa de 12 poses et la liste de mots.
